Great insight, you should make a couple more videos. Although I was aware of the ego issues nowadays, but I couldn't seem to put them into the right context of words. Your vid seemed to "nailed it" sort of speak.

The wise man would look at the situation & consider what is best for the group & everybody would fall into line because they can tell he is doing what is best for the group instead of himself. That is what a true man does. A false man tries to manipulate it to his advantage & loses respect & the girl.

There are two different kinds of confidence. The first is cockiness which is based on ego & is quickly turned to insecurity when a real alpha male approaches. Then, there is the real confidence which isn't based on putting on a show. It's about controlling one's self (or ego if you will). This guy can control the men & the women. Because, he is emotional control. The first guy chases women. The second guy is chased by women. Don't underestimated overcoming ego.

It's the very reason why people hate. Suppose there are two males and one female. One male is going to lose. Who is it going to be? Who has the right to make love to her? So what do men do since our society suppresses our inner desires to fight or flight? Since women find confidence to be the most valuable attribute in men, males will attack one another's confidence. Whether it be bickering, bantering, belittling, all the way to war. Whoever has the highest confidence in the end, has the right.

I like Billy's points. Here's something to think about too. Men like to have big ego's, or high confidence, because that's what women ultimately finds attractive. Women are the same way, just not as aggressive. So, if our confidence issues stems from the incentive to impress and attract the opposite sex, what would happen if everyone stopped caring about their ego? They would stop caring about reproduction. It's not going to happen. It's all about who can score with the hottest chick, or guy.

Good points here. Ego puts people in defensive mode or feelings of being a victim; it's emotional baggage for sure. I see people carrying around 10 ton hurt feelings. But yeah, only a big ego can get hurt and only a low self esteem can be lowered or raised. All this ego low or high leads to one thing in the end, misery. Best way to be is indifferent.

Some great points Billy. But perhaps best to recognize that need or craving to achieve that no-sense of self as it can be just as detrimental as clinging to a illusory sense of self. Witness the dance, watch BOTH the craving to escape and observe the need to be 'someone' ... attaching to either/or creates suffering. There is neither self or no-self. Just 'is' or as they say 'Mu' -- not that I know, just playing with words here :)
