Popular Diet Programs That Can Help You Lose 10 Pounds Or More in 4 Weeks

February 19th, 2010 by popular diet

So, how to reduce weight through dieting within four weeks with popular diets? Here are few tips. Reducing weight not only depends on maintaining the diet or doing physical exercises. But also in choosing the right kind of diet or right kind of exercise that suits you best. We can’t say this is the right kind of diet plan or this diet will keep me healthy. Each diet differs from one another and has their own ups and downs.

The most important thing before starting a diet is consult a physician or nutritionist regarding your body condition. They will guide you to pick a diet that will be balancing your health and daily life. Here is a brief description about few popular diets. Just go through it and analyze which one suits you the best.

DASH: The acronym of DASH is Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension. The name itself says what it does. People with pre-hypertension or high blood pressure can prefer this diet. It advises us to avoid food which contain high sugar, like soda. The reduction of saturated fat and cholesterol is also welcomed. In addition, lot of vegetables and fiber can be added to the diet.

Pritkin Diet: this diet was initially started for people with heart ailments. It was then modified by Robert Pritkin so that is can be used by people who wish to reduce weight. This diet encourages taking more water, grain foods, foods which are rich in vitamins, minerals and also fruits plus vegetables. Another important aspect of this diet is, it recommends having 30 minutes of physical exercise a day. This will help to build up your body. Even though there are many advantages with this diet, one drawback is it concentrates less on proteins and calcium.

NutriSystem: this type has a prepackaged set of meals. They will send you a set of meals which will be in a balanced calorie. This reduces your task of analyzing calorie value for each day. If you need a change in food menu you can ask for the change and you will be provided that menu with a prescribed calorie value. Feedback from customers after using NutriSystem diet is, they feel like the food is impalpable and salty.

Eat More, Weigh Less: Dr.Dean Ornish made this diet with vegetarian people in mind. They focus mainly on intake of fiber, carbohydrates rich foods like beans and soy. Intake of more carbohydrates will make you feel full and faster at the same time you will eat less. Since you feel full, you won’t prefer eating snacks. The major drawback over this diet is there are no long term results if you don’t prefer vegetarian. If you prefer vegetarian life style, then the results are consistent and long term. Dieting help you to grow in self confidence and also prevents you from diseases which occur because of overweight.

As said before, dieting alone won’t help you in losing weight unless there is enough physical exercise. And most importantly, you have to follow them regularly. It’s in the hands of the dieter.

What impact has fad dieting had on our nation & society?

April 2nd, 2009 by popular diet

Belle asked:

Americans are becoming fatter by the day it seems. Weight loss surgeries have become very popular. Are fad diets the cause because we do the yo-yo effect with weight loss & gain? Why has obesity become America’s biggest problem? Is it from over-eating? Is it from the hormones in our food to mass produce enough to feed people? A combination? Something else?

January 26th, 2009 by popular diet

Lolcat asked:

Hi
Right now I’m on a crash diet trying to lose 25 pounds.
I’ve always compared myself to others. especially the popular gorgeous people. I was in the store the other day and two gorgeous cheerleaders with bleached hair and long skinny legs were down the aisle and I got sad because I know i will never be like them.

how do I stop comparing myself to others?

I want to join the International Feminist Conspiracy, I hear so much about. Where do I go to sign-up?

August 24th, 2008 by popular diet

Nancy asked:

Where are the headquarters? I want to ruin TV, movies, commercials, and promote dog breath, the takeover of the cat as the most popular pet, free tampons in schools, Vitimins in Diet Coke, global warming, El Nino, ugly shoes, and free fat transfers for the few thin feminists that exist. I know feminism promotes all these causes and more, because I read it here. How do I sign up?

What are the risks of losing weight while pregnant?

July 15th, 2008 by popular diet

Anne asked:

I’m overweight and losing weight. I’m not doing it on purpose. Actually I’m trying to eat more every day, but I keep losing a quarter pound a day. I’m not vomiting at all. I don’t know why this is happening and I can’t seem to stop it. What are the risks to the baby if I continue to lose weight?
I’m eating about 3x what I normally would eat before I got pregnant. More than double my husband.
Just wanted to let everyone know that my first trimester is almost over and I have stopped losing weight.
Even though I lost a few pounds, my belly is still growing outward and very round. In fact, it looks like I’ve gained weight.
Thanks so much for all of your advice and concern. I did check with a doctor and also went for a second opinion. Everything is fine since I’m a super healthy eater. They assume the weight loss is from all the sleep that I have been doing.
Thanks again everyone.

Gout: What are the best online forums for Gout information?

March 11th, 2008 by popular diet

Texlawric asked:

Gout recommendations are complicated and sometimes contradictory, and the meds all have side effects. I am seeking the most authoritative and popular online forums and message boards, specifically devoted to gout treatemt and diet. I have found a lot of small message boards, infrequently used, but no good ones so far. I have been taking colchcine, which works (NSAID’s don’t) but I don’t like the side effects. Every time I get off it, an attack occurs. Strangely, my uric acid has dropped down from 8.4 to 6.8 with diet and med changes, but attacks haven’t stopped.

I am on a diet and yet the lady in my office insists on eating doughnuts in front of me, what should I do?

February 18th, 2008 by popular diet

ny asked:

I am a business owner (own a detective agency) and a traditionally built woman. I like the way I look. I am happily married to a very good man, Mr J.L.B. Matekoni, and he likes my size, too. But I was diagnosed with a somewhat high blood pressure, one hundred and sixty over ninety, and decided to shed off some pounds, just to show that I could. So, I went on a diet. My husband and our two children (adopted) were more or less understanding. Not so my co-worker and employee (she is my secretary and a junior detective). She insists on eating doughnuts in front of me. She offers them to me, too, she says that her fiance knows the baker at that bakery up in Broadhurst, and he always gives him the best doughnuts. So I told her that I was on a diet, and it didn’t make it any easier for me if she ate doughnuts like that in front of me. But she just said that I couldn’t expect everybody else to stop eating. I don’t know what to do. I even thought about writing to Aunty Emang (it’s a very popular local newspaper agony aunt), but decided not to. What should I do?

Medical Dieting in the case of biliary dyskinesia or other disiases?

January 17th, 2008 by popular diet

Hombre asked:

Hi!
Wondered if there is some well-known popular medical recommendations what food may be eaten and what shouldn’t if one suffers from the biliary dyskinesis.

In Russian medicine there are renowned medicine diets so called tables, they are numbered, for example, Diet ?5 is designed specially for ones suffered from the stated disease. In that diet for instance spinach is prohibited. I just want to find resources in English of something similar but in a meantime failed to find.

Diet from Doctor to avoid diabetes?

December 21st, 2007 by popular diet

elledaeinahpets asked:

My husband went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome, Insulin resistance and hypertension. His doctor gave him a print out of a diet that he should do to lose wieght. I lost the printout and wondering if anyone else has heard of a diet like this.
NO sugars, starches or any plants that grown underground (i.e. peanuts and carrots)
You are allowed to have peas and corn though. Even corn products such as corn tortillas.
Does this sound like any diet that is popular? I want to find more information on this for him for support. Also, to find out what is allowed and not allowed. Thank you.

What is the ultimate best skin cream out there for nasal ****** lines?

November 28th, 2007 by popular diet

averagegirl asked:

Guys, really think hard for this. I mean, I’ve visited other parts of the world. So many great creams out there, especially in Japan. Those guys have some secret formula. Most likely their diet. Think about it, they smoke the most, but they look damn young. Anyway, Dr. Ci Labo is good. Check it out. Acupuncture is becoming more and more popular to create collagen within the skin.

Vet advice and feeding your pets?

November 28th, 2007 by popular diet

abbyful asked:

A lot of times, questions about dog food are answered “ask your vet!”

How many of you take your vet’s advice on what food to give your pets?

Does your vet recommend only the “popular” foods (Science Diet, Iams, Purina, etc), or do they recommend more holistic foods (Innova, Merrick, Canidae, etc)? Or do they recommend “any major brand” (including foods like Beneful, Kibbles n Bits, Alpo).

Dogs with allergies need a new food?

October 1st, 2007 by popular diet

Courtney asked:

I have two Standard Poodles, and they both have allergies. One is allergic to wheat (but not oats or barley), and the other is allergic to turkey. Does anyone know a veterinary diet that would be ok for both of them to eat? Please do not suggest brands like Iams or Pedigree; the popular commercial brands are the worst for their allergies.
I have heard of Hill’s z/d, but my vet says that lots of dogs **** the taste. I would prefer not to go with the BARF diet because I have cats, and I don’t want them treating themselves to extras. I forgot to mention, but the reason I am looking for a new food is because their current food is being discontinued. I’m trying something by Eagle Pack; family friends who own a cousin to my wheat-allergy pup use it and apparently have fantastic results. They also claim the breeder recommended it.
More details…Wheat seems to give both dogs ear infections, but one worse than the other. Even regular cleaning doesn’t seem to help. Turkey causes the other dog’s muzzle to become very swollen, and she gets very lethargic. Luckily this only happened once.

September 17th, 2007 by popular diet

OhSnapitsMiriahh asked:

I’m not a loser by any means at the school im going to now, and i’m not shy. And I can make friends pretty easily. But this summer I was planning on making some major changes. Like dying my hair black and blonde, stop being a prep, and basicly almost stop eating kinda diet (dont get me wrong, Im not going to be annrexic) And last time I went to a private school they were all preps and……i dont know, just like they would make someone like “the new me” be a outcast and have know friends. And the school im going to now is accepting of the changes I plan on making! SO how could I get friends there?
And are all Private school kids preps?
Are there any “scene” “emo’ kids there?
